►FILM (SOLD OUT)
ROSES. FILM-CABARET, dir. Iryna Stecenko, 2021, 78 min.
Musical documentary exploring the heights of the cabaret genre in the modern world, following the seven female artists of the intellectual freak cabaret ‘Dakh Daughters Band’. Living through a pivotal moment in the history of their country, the Maidan Revolution of 2014, art becomes a way for the Dakh Daughters to reflect upon those events and face the harsh reality of today’s Ukraine with wisdom and hope.
►MUSIC
LATEXFAUNA(Chillwave/Indiepop)
With songs that hardly ever exceed 90 BPM, Latexfauna might be the most chilled out band of Ukraine, with an irresistibly danceable sound. In the last couple of years they have built a steady audience in Ukraine, with a lot of sold out shows and festival performances as a consequence. If you feel the need to relax, want to pretend you are surfing in Hawaii, or need some sunshine in your head and heart, this is the band for you!
CAPE COD (Electronic/house/funk0)
Cape Cod is a Kyiv-based project of producer and musician Maksym Sikalenko. In his music he combines house, techno, funk, blue-eyed soul, gospel, jazz, and breakbeat. In 2016, Maksym released his first album entitled “Cult” during the rave culture renaissance in Kyiv, of which he became one of the ambassadors. In addition to his own productions, Maksym is committed to showcasing the next generation of Kyiv’s house and techno power-producers via his own label ‘Kiev House’. Singer Oleksii Bodnar will join Maksym on stage.
CEPASA(Electronic/downtempo house)
Cepasa (Pavlo Lenchenko) is a Kyiv based Ukrainian musician, music producer and artist who has been active since 2012, and has just released his fifth album, Niby Chaiky (2022), that was completed during the war in Ukraine. The album is dedicated to the struggle of Ukrainian people for freedom, and the first single, Kyiv, was recorded after the Russian troops failed to take over the city, and were kicked out of the region. The drone video accompanying the song is well worth the watch, both for people who have visited this wonderful city before, or as a first introduction.
