England's The Selecter is, along with The Specials and Madness, one of the most important bands to have emerged from 2 Tone - an influential musical and cultural movement that remains as relevant today as it was forty years ago. During the ska revival in the 1970s, they scored hits like ‘On My Radio’ and ‘Too Much Pressure’ with their danceable mix of reggae, ska and punk and charismatic frontwoman Pauline Black. The Selecter remained active all these years, releasing another album ‘Human Algebra’ in 2023. Sadly, co-frontman Arthur ‘Gaps’ Hendrickson passed away in June last year, after a short illness. Original drummer Charley ‘Aitch’ Bembridge still plays at the current live Selecter line-up, alongside, of course, Pauline Black. The gig will mark the 45th anniversary of debut album ‘Too Much Pressure’, with plenty of old hits, no doubt!

Before the concert we will screen the new documentary "Pauline Black: A 2-Tone Story" in our Cinema, as part of Doc'n Roll Film Festival. The film tells the singers extraordinary life story before the film Pauline will do an introduction. Click here for more info and tickets!
