The Academic

Irish indie rock band The Academic got their breakthrough in 2017 with their song ‘Bear Claws’. A year later, their debut LP ‘Tales from the Backseat’ reached the first spot within the Irish Albums Chart. Mainly influenced by retro rock from the 2000s, the band are also often compared to bands like The Strokes. They also see artists like Talking Heads, New Order, and Elvis Costello as major sources of inspiration. After supporting Louis Tomlinson and making their Melkweg debut earlier this year, the band returns to Amsterdam on 24 April!
