At Melkweg RADAR, you can discover the latest and newest acts - across all genres - live in our most intimate venue, the UP. This edition we invite two emerging reggae artists, both from Amsterdam: Rapha Pico and Koba Brown.
Rapha Pico
With his dynamic roots reggae and powerful lyrics about love, peace and equal rights, Amsterdam native with African-Surinamese roots Rapha Pico is an authentic voice in the reggae and dub scene. He had a breakthrough with his 2019 single ‘Lead The Way’ and has already shared the stage with big names like Bunny Wailer, Damian Marley and Mad Professor. He performed in Melkweg many times too as a supporting act, but now finally with his own show!
Koba Brown
Based in Amsterdam, versatile Ghanaian vocalist Koba Brown crosses musical boundaries too with a modern blend of dub, reggae, hip-hop, afrobeat and soul, inspired by the new generation of reggae artists such as Chronnix and Koffee. Koba Brown works extensively with guitarist/producer Ginton, known for his work with Ronnie Flex and even Drake. Tracks like King With A Crown and She's Fire are already doing well online, time for Koba to impress on stage too!
