The coveted Palm* Prize Competition, established by the leading Palm* Studios in London, is joining forces with Melkweg Expo this year. This unique biennial competition welcomes emerging talents in photography, both nationally and internationally. From an impressive pool of over 7700 submissions, 107 photographers have been selected. The works of these photographers will soon shine in an exhibition at Melkweg Expo. The nominees will be judged by an expert panel, including names like Alastair McKimm, former editor-in-chief of i-D, and Emma Bowkett, curator and director of photography at FT Weekend Magazine, for a chance to win the coveted Jury Prize, the Audience Award, and a mentorship program provided by Canvas Represents.
The Palm* Photo Prize 2024 kicks off with a free opening on Friday, May 24th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, showcasing all 107 selected submissions. The exhibition will then be open for viewing until Sunday, June 30th.
Previous nominated artists and winners include Guen Fiore, Hajar Benjida, Mark Mahaney, Abhishek Khedekar, Kennedi Carter, Daria Svertilova, Mark Sommerfield, Odette England, Donovan Smallwood, Tami Aftab, Max Miechowski, Vivek Vadolia, Caleb Stein, and Silvia Rosi.
The exhibition is made possible by Fotolab Kiekie, Mondriaan Fonds, Capture One, Spectrum, INK, Picter, Canvas Represents, Lock, 10 14 Gallery, New Dimension, and i-D.
