Together with Oxfam Novib, we are screening this new documentary, as a follow-up to ‘Don't Stop Talking About Palestine’ in November last year. Oxfam Novib wil introduce the film and explain why it is important to see it and how Oxfam, together with Palestinian partner organisations, is working for the right of Palestinians to remain on their land.

No Other Land follows Basel Adra, a young Palestinian activist from Masafer Yatta in the West Bank, who has been fighting the mass expulsion of his community by the Israeli authorities since he was young. He documents the destruction of villages in his region, where Israeli soldiers gradually demolish houses and drive out residents. At one point, he meets Yuval, an Israeli journalist, and an unlikely friendship develops between them. Although Yuval supports Basel in his efforts, their bond is strained by the huge inequality: Basel lives under military occupation, while Yuval lives free and unrestricted.

No Other Land, made by a Palestinian-Israeli collective comprising Basel Adra, Yuval Abraham, Hamdan Ballal & Rachel Szor, acts as an act of creative resistance and seeks justice in the ongoing conflict. The documentary had its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year, where it won the Panorama Dokumente Audience Award and the Berlinale Documentary Award. Since then, the film has been shown at several international festivals and has received many awards.
