The gothic post-punk of Heartworms, named after The Shins’ album of the same name, draws inspiration not only from The Shins but also from icons like The Clash and Siouxsie and The Banshees. Behind this emerging name in the British post-punk scene is Jojo Orme. With her fascination for military history, she creates dark, goth-inspired post-punk filled with raw guitar licks. Her debut EP 'A Comforting Notion' was crafted on the eccentric label Speedy Wunderground, with none other than Dan Carey (known for Wet Leg and Fontaines D.C.) at the helm. According to 3voor12, Heartworms is "the coolest band of the moment on the cult label Speedy Wunderground"—an evening no fan of the new British post-punk wave should miss!
