If you're a fan of electro classics then you probably know Fatima Yamaha's track "What's A Girl To Do" by heart. The mysterious alter ego of Bas Bron (producer for the De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig), was shrouded in mystery for years. By now, everyone knows that under this name he's headlined the biggest festivals worldwide as a solo artist with his quirky take on house and techno full of virtuoso synths and funk-laden basslines. Since the re-release of the iconic record and legendary live set at Dekmantel Festival, things have exploded exponentially. In February 2024 Fatima Yamaha will release a brandnew full length album and start touring again shortly after. The album will be named SOL, a notch towards his connection to the sun/(half)moon but it’s also an abbreviation of Sign Of Love, a strong message and one of the key tracks on the album. This might be the most funk-laden album Fatima Yamaha has delivered in his two decades long career. On Thursday, March 21, Fatima Yamaha will play live at Melkweg.
