MILK MUUR: The World is Your Oyster

MILK

With ‘The World Is Your Oyster* kes-tchaas / mello presents a striking visual narrative spanning five cities: london, tokyo, new york, florida, and jamaica using the camera as both a witness and a vessel for storytelling.

His photography marks a pivotal shift in kes-tchaas’ process and artistic maturity, leaving the nest and embracing life’s lessons. Each photograph serves as both a document and a reflection, capturing encounters with people, places, and histories. kes-tchaas’ work is rooted in the traditions of oral storytelling and inspired by Chinua Achebe's assertion that history belongs to those who tell it. Each frame becomes a portal, capturing fleeting moments of connection, resilience, and cultural continuity across different geographies.

The exhibition invites the viewer to travel through these visual testimonies. ‘The World is Your Oyster’ is an act of reclamation and self-discovery, a reminder that history is not static but alive, shaped by those who dare to tell their own stories.
