Mysterious, dreamy and effortlessly cool – the sound of Domenique Dumont is like a hazy sunset on a beach you’ve never been to, but somehow recognize. What started as an enigmatic collaboration between Latvian multi-instrumentalist and producer Arturs Liepins and vocalist/ethnomusicologist Anete Stuce – possibly joined by an elusive French artist whose identity remains unconfirmed – has evolved into one of the most intriguing projects in modern electronic pop.
Blending breezy samba rhythms, bossa nova grooves and a cinematic, leftfield pop aesthetic, Domenique Dumont crafts sonic landscapes that feel both nostalgic and futuristic. Their 2015 debut 'Comme Ça' and its follow-up 'Miniatures de Auto Rhythm' (2018) became cult classics, especially in francophone circles. In 2020, the duo released 'People On Sunday', an album originally composed as a score for the iconic 1930 silent film Menschen am Sonntag, commissioned by Les Arcs Film Festival.
Now signed to The Leaf Label, Domenique Dumont is putting the finishing touches on their highly anticipated fourth album 'Deux Paradis'. Expect an evening of lush, hypnotic soundscapes and otherworldly grooves.
