Castle in the Sky (1986)

Together with Kaboom Animation Festival, we are bringing the best anime to the big screen! This weekend, we're doing a special Studio Ghibli weekender, in celebration of the new film 'The Boy and the Heron'. We will screen no fewer than ten films by director Hayao Miyazaki, including a unique preview of his latest. Come and enjoy the best Ghibli together on the big screen! 

Castle in the Sky follows the adventures of Pazu and Sheeta as they search for the legendary floating city of Laputa. This enchanting tale seamlessly blends elements of fantasy and steampunk, showcasing Miyazaki's trademark themes of environmentalism, courage, and the indomitable spirit of youth. The film's magic lies in its vivid characters and the exploration of the bond between nature and technology. Miyazaki's proclivity for strong-willed heroines is evident in Sheeta, while the film's airborne escapades and awe-inspiring landscapes reflect the director's fascination with flight and the wonders of the natural world.
