19:30 Doors 20:00 SHEE 21:00 Barry Can't Swim
Joshua Mainie, better known as Barry Can't Swim, is a producer from Edinburgh. Across a flurry of vital, cutting edge tracks he’s been able to blend club sounds with organic aspects, an outer-national approach that fuses house with afrobeat productions and jazz. This versatile sound echoes musical inspirations such as The Avalanches and Maribou State. After initial releases on Soundcloud, the Scottish musician was stunned by the response and eventually signed with Ninja Tune's Technicolour.
Mainie just released his long-awaited debut album 'When Will We Land', perhaps his boldest statement to date. The inclusion of voice-notes by friends and family, provide an even more personal touch. "You only get one chance to make your debut album, so I want to showcase all the elements I love." On March 20, the electronic mastermind will come to Amsterdam for a live performance at our OZ hall!
Support: SHEE
Ahead of Barry Can't Swim, the upcoming producer SHEE will come to warm up the OZ in advance with his sophisticated French house cuts.
SHEE is supported by Liveurope: the first pan-European initiative supporting concert venues in their efforts to promote emerging European music.
